LouisVillage

The original historic business district for Louisville, Colorado includes many inviting shops – local favorites – along a Main Street corridor that has become isolated within a larger residential community as newer commercial developments grew along larger outer corridor roadways. The local merchants were finding it difficult to effectively promote through the winter holiday with a cumbersome ‘come into the historic old town Louisville business district’ message. We created a festively inviting winter holiday new branding identity as LouisVillage to evoke the familiar comfort of a “North Pole Village” to the greater Boulder community.

We created a distinct and colorful ribbon brand for LouisVillage, while many generous volunteers and businesses came together to plan all of the winter holiday activities. New branding system designs include a familiar historic district street light and a custom illustration of the main street businesses under a beautiful evening blue winter sky – representing a more simple time in our community experience – a unique family based experience that cannot be created wtihin the larger impersonal environment of the big box retailers.

Holiday themed branding design incorporated a complete marketing campaign within several graphic design projects including a festive poster, event flyers, newspaper ads, social media events, and a Facebook page featuring a unique Old Town Louisville “snow-globe” animated gif cover image. We also created new promotional designs as street light banners and a LouisVillage branded holiday gift wrapping paper for the district merchants.

The new LousiVillage branding system invites viewers into the charm of the ‘Old Town’ business community – showcasing unique boutique shopping experiences, fine art galleries, amazing restaurants, ice skating, sleigh rides,… through the winter holidays season.

When fall drops it’s last leaves and the air turns crisp, the friendly little shoppes in downtown Louisville transform into LouisVillage! The artisan cafes serve wintery entrees and delights, the galleries and jewelers fill their spaces with holiday cheer, and the locals & visitors prepare for LouisVillage’s grand opening events – Parade of Lights (hosted by the Louisville Chamber of Commerce) & First Friday Art Walk (hosted by the Louisville Arts District).

Colorful lights decorate the streets, carolers sing the most beautiful songs, and hot chocolate is served to the children awaiting the festivities. Everyone gathers in the center of town anticipating their first glimpse of Santa. Ice skaters twist and turn as they perform their favorite tricks, while moms and dads sneak into stores buying gifts for loved ones. Horses dressed with festive ribbons and bells pull carriages of visitors throughout the charming streets.

Festivities continue for the whole month of December and the New Year before slowly transforming back into our beloved downtown – humble yet active with the true nature and signature character of Louisville, Colorado.

The holiday themed new branding system clearly differentiates the old town district from the all too common big box shopping centers – promising to deliver a smaller family-friendly shopping, entertainment and activity experience to every visitor throughout the winter holiday season.
