Custom book design for the Gates Carbon Drive “Lookbook” focused toward inspirational bicycle and adventure imagery layouts featuring the use of the Gates Carbon Drive belt system on bicycles around the world as a celebration of their 10th Anniversary from their initial product launch in 2007. The custom book design project began with a general idea of presentation sections and then a review of MANY IMAGES to discover the best presentation collection showcasing Gates Carbon Drive from 2007 to 2017.

Originally intended as a 2017 tradeshows handout for the company, the project grew to become an impressive 160-page “Lookbook” custom publication showcase of the belt drive system and the development of Gates Carbon Drive equipped bicycles. A beautiful photographic essay of belt drive bicycle imagery – perfect for a bicycle dealer’s retail case or cyclists coffee table display.

The “Lookbook” serves as a valuable marketing piece for Gates Carbon Drive in changing the hearts and minds of the larger cycling industry of the possibilities presented within advanced belt drive systems design as an escape from the antiquated roller-chain paradigm. The custom publication design displays many custom Gates Carbon Drive equipped bicycles from a wide-selection of award winning custom bicycle builders – becoming a source of pride for the manufacturers.

Professional layouts for the custom book design allow engaging presentations of the bicycling imagery from page-to-page. We created a wide variety of page layouts to showcase the Gates Carbon Drive system within each bicycle image. The custom book design includes several stunning large photographs of the Gates Carbon Drive products – artworks in themselves.
